IT’S NOT PAINT! It’s dyed fiber, hand-made paper with the image created in it! Paper making has been a tradition in Japan for centuries. Terri takes this ancient art in a new direction. The bark of the paper mulberry tree and banana stalk are cooked to break down the fibers, then bleached and dyed in various colors. The colored fibers are chopped, mixed with clear liquid and applied on to a screen in the desired image. After drying, the thick paper is pealed from the screen, revealing the finished art!
